SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

To get started, download the latest version of the Fitbit app on your smartphone or tablet and make sure your Fitbit watch or tracker is charged.

  1. Open the Fitbit app and navigate to your watch settings. Tap Fitbit Wallet and follow the instructions to add your card.
  2. If you haven't created a PIN code for your watch or tracker, you will be asked to set one.
  3. Enter your card details and billing information. These will be sent securely to your bank for verification.
  4. You'll be prompted to accept the terms of your bank. (You may also be asked to complete further identity verification by your bank.)
  5. Once you're done, Fitbit Pay will sync the activated card to your watch or tracker via Bluetooth.

How do I use the wallet?
The Wallet section of the Fitbit app is where you add and remove payment cards for Fitbit Pay, edit a payment method, and review recent purchases. If you lose Ionic, Versa or Charge 3, you can also suspend the card on your watch for added security.

To open the Wallet, on the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon > Tap or click your watch tile > Wallet.
How do I set up Fitbit Pay?
To start, add at least 1 credit or debit card from a participating card issuer to the Wallet section of the Fitbit app. To set up Fitbit Pay:
  1. With your watch nearby, on the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap or click your watch tile.
  3. Tap or click the Wallet tile.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add a payment card. In some cases, your card issuer may require additional verification. If you're adding a card for the first time, you'll be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN code for your watch (if you haven't already done so). Note that you also need to have Touch ID or a PIN code turned on for your phone.
  5. After you've added a card, follow the on-screen instructions to turn on notifications for your phone (if you haven't already done so) to complete the setup. You can add up to 8 payment cards to the Wallet and choose 1 card to use on Ionic, Versa or Charge 3.
How do I make a payment with Fitbit Pay?
To pay with Ionic, Versa or Charge 3:
  1. When you're ready to pay, press and hold the left button on your watch for 2 seconds. Swipe to the Payments screen if it's not shown.
  2. If prompted, enter your 4-digit watch PIN code.
  3. After your card appears on the screen, hold your wrist near the payment terminal. When the payment succeeds, your watch vibrates and you'll see a confirmation on the screen.

    If the payment terminal doesn't recognize Fitbit Pay, make sure the watch face is near the reader and that the cashier knows youre using a contactless payment.
Do I need to have my phone nearby to use Fitbit Pay?
You don't have to have your phone nearby to use Fitbit Pay. After you set up Fitbit Pay you can makes payments from your watch and leave your phone at home.
Why was my Fitbit Pay transaction declined?
If your payment was declined, contact your bank for more information.
How do I remove or delete a card from Fitbit Pay?
To a remove a card:
  1. On Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap or click your watch tile.
  3. Tap or click the Wallet tile.
  4. Swipe to find the card you want to remove.
  5. Scroll down and find the option to remove it. The card will disappear from the Wallet.
  6. If the card is stored on your watch, sync your watch to remove it.
Where can I see a list of transactions made with Fitbit Pay?
See your 3 most recent transactions made with Fitbit Pay in the Wallet section of the Fitbit app, or review all of your Fitbit Pay transactions on your bank or credit card statements. To see your recent transactions in the Fitbit app:
  1. On Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap or click your watch tile.
  3. Tap or click the Wallet tile.
  4. Find the card stored on your watch and then scroll down to see your 3 most recent transactions.
Is Fitbit Pay secure?
Fitbit Pay uses an industry-standard tokenisation platform to ensure your card information is never revealed or shared with merchants or with Fitbit. I lost my watch - can someone else use Fitbit Pay?

You must enter your personal 4-digit PIN code on Ionic, Versa or Charge 3 to use Fitbit Pay - either to unlock your watch after you put it back on your wrist or to authorise a payment during the point of sale (depending on how you set up the device lock). This means that no one can use your watch to make a payment without first entering the PIN code.

For added security, you can suspend the card on your watch in the Wallet section of the Fitbit app (even if your watch isn't nearby). When you suspend a card, it remains stored in your Wallet, but you can't use it to make payments with your watch. Note that you can still make payments using the physical card, so contact your bank if the card was lost or stolen.

To suspend a card:

  1. On Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap or click your watch tile.
  3. Tap or click Wallet.
  4. Swipe to find the card you want to suspend.
  5. Tap or click Suspend Card.
To reactivate the card on your watch, complete these steps and tap or click Unsuspend Card.
I forgot the PIN code for my watch - how do I reset it?
Reset the PIN code for your watch in the Fitbit app.
To reset your PIN code:
  1. On Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap or click your watch tile.
  3. Tap or click Device Lock .
  4. Find the option to reset your PIN code and then follow the onscreen instructions.
Can I user Fitbit Pay internationally?
You can use Fitbit Pay when traveling internationally at stores that accept contactless payments. Note that foreign transaction fees may apply to purchases made internationally depending on your bank's policy.
